Lacrosse Falls to Averett in Season Opener

Rocky Mount, NC - The NC Wesleyan women's lacrosse team fell to Averett Saturday afternoon by a score of 20-1. While the Bishops came up short in the contest, Mia Scherber was able to score the first goal of the season for the program in the 4th. In the 2nd half, Wesleyan slowed down the Averett attack and held the Cougars to only 3 goals in the 4th. Goalkeeper Jillian Stine also recorded 8 saves on the afternoon to start the 2023 campaign.

The Bishops will be back in action on March 6th as they travel to Myrtle Beach and face Ferrum.
