Rocky Mount, N.C. - On Think Pink Day at Scalf Field, the women's soccer team of N.C. Wesleyan tallied a 6-0 win over USA South foe Mary Baldwin. Senior Rebecca Staylor netted four goals, while five different players notched assists en route to the team's second straight shutout. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Battling Bishop players and fans sported pink attire to show their support throughout the match!

Staylor turned in a first half hat trick with goals in the 12th, 13th and 19th minutes. Freshman Cissi Edehult assisted on the eventual gamewinner at 11:06, delivering a perfect cross that Staylor headed home. Hannah Tolson and Amanda Mazza assisted on goals two and three, while senior Jade Gold tallied an unassisted score at 24:05 to give the Battling Bishops a 4-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Staylor recorded her fourth goal after taking a feed from freshman Ashley Dunn in the 68th minute. Junior Nicole Liette rounded at the scoring with her first goal of the season at 83:45, assisted by Shayla Thorne.

NCWC keepers Ashley Major and Sarah Hovis combined for the shutout in net. The Bishops out-shot the Squirrels 34-3 on the day and held a 10-1 advantage in corners. MBC goalie Hayley Gillon made 12 saves in the match.

With the victory, NCWC moves to 8-5-1 overall, 4-3-1 in conference action. The Bishops travel to league opponents Huntingdon and LaGrange this weekend for a pair of key match-ups.
