Erica Keil Joins N.C. Wesleyan as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics and head coach Beverly Biancur have announced the hiring of Erica Keil as a full-time assistant with the Battling Bishop women's soccer program. Prior to Wesleyan, Keil enjoyed a successful two-year coaching stint at Wesley College, where she worked primarily with goalkeepers from both the Wolverine men's and women's programs. 

Keil is a 2014 graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Special and Elementary Education. As a student-athlete, she was a three-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection at goalkeeper, earning First Team All-Conference honors as a junior in 2012, as well as Second Team All-VaSID and All-Region accolades. 

Her collegiate career with the Marlins saw Keil record 122 saves and 16 shutouts, allowing just 22 goals in nearly 3,100 minutes of action for a 0.64 goals against average. She helped VWC earn three straight NCAA Tournament berths from 2010 to 2012.

Keil also has several years of coaching experience, working with teams from U-7 through the high school level, as well as assisting with the North Jersey Valkaries, the Soccer Plus Goalkeeping Academy, and The Keeper Institute.  The Wayne, N.J. native has a National License from the NSCAA, as well as Advanced National Goalkeeper certification. She is slated to earn her USSF D License in June of 2016.
