Four Bishops Earn Postseason Recognition in Women's Soccer

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released it postseason awards in the sport of women's soccer, and N.C. Wesleyan is pleased to announce that four Battling Bishops have earned recognition on the pitch.

Senior Ella Burkhart led the way as an overall First Team selection in the midfield. Burkhart ranked in the league's top-5 with seven assists this fall, and the Mt. Pocono, Pa. native added five goals for 17 total points thusfar. She was joined on the East Division First Team by her sister, sophomore defender Victoria Burkhart. The younger Burkhart tallied one goal and one assist from the back this season, helping Wesleyan's defense tally five shutouts along the way.

Freshman Cydney Nichols also garnered All-Conference accolades at forward as an East Division Second Teamer. Nichols currently leads the team and ranks in the league's top-10 in scoring with 10 goals and one assist for 21 total points. The Suffolk, Va. native recently scored the gamewinning goal in Wesleyan's opening round upset of Greensboro College on Wednesday.

Senior Lucia Davids wrapped up NCWC's honorees as a member of the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team. Davids, who hails from Stafford, Va., served as co-captain this season.
