Women's Soccer receives two on all-conference team

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2018 All-Conference awards for women's soccer. Maryville College's Bailey Sipos was named Player of the Year while her coach, Pepe Fernandez earned Coach of the Year honors. The Covenant duo of Kailey Burrell and Rachel Lemay were named Rookie of the Year and the inaugural Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, while the Lady Bishops (4-9-1) put two on the all-division second team.

Making the second team all-East Division was junior midfielder Sarah Cook and junior defender Victoria Burkhart while senior Anna Stribling was named to the all-sportsmanship team as well as she received no cards all season. Burkhart ended up with one goal and two points on the year as she led the back-line of the defense for the Bishops only allowing 25 goals all year. Cook then finished the campaign with a team-high tying 5 goals and 2 assists for 12 points.

Piedmont College (Ga.) ended up winning the tournament title, but fell in the first round of the National tournament.

The Bishops graduate 11 seniors but look to come back strong next season to compete for a conference title.
