Raleigh, NC - The NC Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team dropped a tough neutral site match against Bob Jones 5-2 Friday afternoon.
The Bruins jumped out an early 2-0 lead with goals in the first and sixteenth minute. The Bishops answered with a goal of their own when Samantha Dell and Eden Whiteside set up Junior Makaela Stokes to cut Bob Jones' lead to one. The match went back and forth as the first half progressed, with Bob Jones scoring two more goals and NCWU adding one more goal on Senior Isabel Neall's score, assisted by Caitlyn Butler.
The Lady Bishops' second half showcased a strong defensive performance that only allowed one goal from the Bruins in the sixty third minute of the match. Senior Goalkeeper Anna Yeakey made five saves on ten shots on goal; overall, the Battling Bishops offense converted two goals off of ten shots.
The Bishops will face Johnson & Wales at home Wednesday, September 7th at 4:00pm.
