Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team defeated Johnson and Wales by a score of 4-2 Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson and Wales scored first to make it a 1-0 match at the thirty first minute of the match. The Battling Bishops then came fighting back with a strong offensive performance to finish the half 2-1; with a score by Caitlyn Butler that was assisted by Eden Whiteside at the thirty second minute and a score by Eden Whiteside with an assist coming from Sam Dell at the thirty fourth minute.
The Battling Bishops would answer in the second half with another strong performance to add two more scores by Mia Scherber with an assist by Isabel Neall at the fifty-six-minute mark. Then at the eighty fifth minute Caitlyn Butler scored on an unassisted goal to put the Battling Bishops up 4-2.
The match would have twenty-three shots on goal with four scores by the Battling Bishops and goalie Anna Yeakey would face six shots on goal with four saves.
The Women's Soccer team will face off against Stockton this Saturday at 12:00pm in the NCWC Classic.
