
Fayetteville, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team played
conference rival Methodist University this Saturday and fell short by a score of 5-1.
The Battling Bishops got on the scoreboard first in the twenty-eight minute of the match with an
unassisted goal by Mariah Berkovich, the senior from Virginia Beach, VA. A minute later the
Monarchs of Methodist scored their first goal of the match and followed with four unanswered
goals.
Overall, the Battling Bishops had four shots on goal with one goal. Bishops Anna Yeakey, the
goalkeeper from Wake Forest, NC, saw two shots on goal with one save; whileJordan
Fransee, the goalkeeper from Suffolk, VA, saw six shots on goal with two saves.
The Battling Bishops will travel to Salem on Tuesday, October 25th to face the Spirits.
