Rocky Mount, N.C. - The women's tennis team of N.C. Wesleyan captured the second USA South regular season championship in program history over the weekend with 9-0 sweeps of Huntingdon and LaGrange at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Complex. Wesleyan completes conference play with a perfect 12-0 record, giving the Bishops their first-ever out-right crown. NCWC had previously shared the 2012 title with Methodist and Meredith.

Versus Huntingdon on Saturday, head coach Andres Amores used his standard line-up of Natalia Lopez, Rachel Hui, Maria Fernanda Orona, Valeria Berber, Sofia Gonzalez and Sofia Prado at #1 through #6, respectively.

Against LaGrange, Prado moved up the #4 seed as Florencia Sorrentino and Samantha Cachutt posted victories at #5 and #6 singles in straights. The Bishops, in fact, surrendered just eight games in each sweep.

Wesleyan will take a 12-2 overall record into next weekend's USA South Conference Tournament. The 12 consecutive victories are a program-best and solidfy the 2015 season as the most successful in Bishop history.

As the top seed, NCWC receives a first round bye and will face the winner of #4 Meredith/#5 Covenant on Saturday at 2:00pm. All matches will be played at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Complex on the Wesleyan campus.
