Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Battling Bishop women's tennis team hosted it 2016 NCWC Fall Invitational on Saturday, welcoming Methodist University and Meredith College to the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center for a day of match play.
Leading the way in singles action for the Bishops were juniors Ana Diaz and Andrea Tobar. Each picked up a pair of singles victories, with both of Diaz's victories coming against the Monarchs and both of Tobars against the Angels. Florencia Sorrentino and Nicole Halabi each picked up one win, leaving Wesleyan with a 6-5 overall mark in singles play.
In doubles, Sorrentino teamed with Halabi for an impressive 6-2 victory over the Methodist duo of Vatrice Williams and Sam Stoker.
The Bishops will wrap up fall play on October 8th at the Barton College Fall Invitational.
