Hilton Head, S.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's tennis team picked up its first two wins of the season this week, downing St. John Fisher and Roanoke College to finish 2-2 over Spring Break in Hilton Head. Leading the way for the Bishops was senior Andrea Tobar, who posted a team-best 3-1 record in singles play and a solid 2-2 mark in doubles action.

Wesleyan opened play on Monday with a 9-0 sweep of St. John Fisher to secure the Bishops' first win of the season. NCWC followed up a 3-0 doubles sweep with six straight-set wins in singles play, which included a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win by junior Florencia Sorrentino at the top seed.

After a pair of 8-1 losses to Wilkes and Ohio Northern on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, the Bishops rebounded with a 6-3 victory over Roanoke College to close out the trip on Friday.

After falling behind 2-1 after doubles, the Bishops took five out of six singles matches to steal the come-from-behind win. Sorrentino, Nicole Halabi, and Stephany Barbera were straight-set winners at the top three seeds, while Tobar's 6-3, 6-3 win at #5 clinched the match. Freshman Manuela Cano's three-set victory later provided the final margin of victory.

The Bishops (2-4) travel to Barton College on Wednesday before opening up USA South play on Sunday, the 19th, at home versus Mary Baldwin.
