Dule and Mariotti named to All-Conference Teams

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2022 All-Conference awards for women's tennis. Individually, Southern Virginia's Paula Snelson was named both Player and Rookie of the Year while Averett's Bert Poole earned Coach of the Year accolades. Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school.

All awards were voted on by the women's tennis coach at each institution. The divisional team voting was completed only by those coaches in the particular division while the first team all-conference and individual award voting was completed by all coaches.

Freshman #1 player Kristal Dule was named to the All-Conference and All-Division First Team while sophomore #2 player Elisa Mariotti was named to the All-Division First team.

Junior Miguelina Paiva was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

Poole, in his seventh year as the head coach of Averett, received his first USA South Women's Tennis Coach of the Year honor and is the first Averett coach since 1999 to receive the accolades. Despite being picked third in the USA South East Division Preseason Coaches Poll, Poole led the Cougars to a perfect 9-0 Conference mark and the program's first regular season title.
