
Raleigh, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's tennis program finished the final two matches of the regular season against nationally ranked Christopher Newport and Meredith. Against the Avenging Angels, the Bishops would cruise 9-0 with 8-0 wins in two of the three doubles contests. In singles, Elisa Mariotti, Christina Mendoza Romero, Andrea Elaez Miranda, and Bethan Fothergill all won their matches by a score of 6-0, 6-0.
In the CNU match, the Lady Bishops were extremely competitive after falling in the first two doubles matches of the afternoon. Kristal Dule and Elisa Mariotti both won third-set tiebreaker matches at the number one and two slots. They were followed up by a #5 position victory by Bethan Fothergill in the 4-5 effort.
The Lady Bishops will participate next weekend at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center in the USA South Conference Tournament with an NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
