  • Gentile Promoted to NCWC Head Volleyball Coach

    On Tuesday, January 6th, the N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer and volleyball teams departed on an overseas excursion to Barcelona, Spain. The 7-night trip featured, for many, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

    Freshman Samantha Morton racked up a career-high 14 kills on Wednesday night in Fayetteville, leading her N.C. Wesleyan volleyball squad to a 3-2 win over USA South rival Methodist University. The victory is NCWC's third of the season over MU.

    The Bishop volleyball team of N.C. Wesleyan suffered a 3-0 sweep to host Averett University on Friday before closing out the week with a 3-1 victory over Ferrum College. Tori Stewart and Emily McLain combined for 21 kills and five blocks in the win.

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball squad dropped two matches at Saturday's USA South Play Day in Raleigh, falling 3-0 to league-leading Maryville before suffering a 3-1 setback versus Covenant. The Bishops will now prepare for Wednesday's home finale.

    Junior Kayla White tallied 16 assists, 10 digs and seven kills on Wednesday afternoon to lead her Battling Bishop volleyball squad to a 3-0 sweep of Mary Baldwin in Everett Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-21, 25-14 and 25-16.
  • Wesleyan Volleyball Falls in Five Sets at Guilford, 3-2

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball squad dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Guilford College on Friday night in non-conference play. The Bishops battled back from two sets down to force a fifth and deciding set, but eventually fell 15-6 to give the Quakers the match. The defeat comes on the heels of a 3-1 USA South loss at Greensboro on Wednesday.

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team split a pair of league matches at LaGrange College on Saturday. The Bishops suffered a 3-0 sweep by the host Panthers in the opener, but rebounded for a 3-0 victory of their own versus Huntingdon in the nightcap. NCWC was paced by sophomore Tori Stewart's 26 kills over the two-match span.

    Freshman Emily McLain tallied ten kills and five blocks to lead her N.C. Wesleyan volleyball squad to a 3-1 USA South win over Methodist University on Tuesday night in Everett Gym. Set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 14-25 and 27-25.
  • Volleyball Bishops Suffer Trio of USA South Losses

    The Battling Bishop volleyball team of N.C. Wesleyan suffered a trio of USA South losses this week, beginning with a road sweep at Meredith on Wednesday and ending with a pair of tough defeats versus Ferrum and Averett at home on Saturday. Despite the losses, sophomore Tori Stewart faired well statistically with a team-best 23 kills and 8 blocks over the three-match span.
  • Wesleyan Sweeps Baldwin 3-0 for First League Win

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball squad picked up its first USA South win of the season on Saturday afternoon, turning in a 3-0 sweep of Mary Baldwin College in Greensboro. The victory leaves the Bishops with a 1-2 league record on the week, having dropped earlier matches to William Peace and Greensboro.
  • Wesleyan Ends Tough Week at Bridgewater Tourney

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team ended a tough week of competition with a trio of losses at Bridgewater College's Fall Invitational this weekend. The Bishops suffered 3-0 sweeps versus Gallaudet and Washington & Lee before falling to host Bridgewater by a 3-1 score. Freshman Aneisha Felton highlighted Wesleyan's performance versus the Eagles with a career-high 13 kills.

    North Carolina Wesleyan's volleyball team earned its first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, downing rival Methodist University by a 3-1 score in Fayetteville. Freshman Samantha Morton tallied a career-high 13 kills in the victory, while sophomore Tori Stewart added 11 of her own.
  • Volleyball Bishops Drop 3-1 Home Decision to Marlins

    The Battling Bishop volleyball squad was in action on Wednesday night in Everett Gym, dropping a 3-1 decision to Virginia Wesleyan (25-14, 25-14, 21-25, 25-8). Despite the loss, freshman Samantha Morton turned in stellar performance with seven kills and a .583 hitting percentage, while sophomore libero Christina Huber also faired well statistically with a match-high 18 digs.
