Wesleyan Ends Tough Week at Bridgewater Tourney

Bridgewater, Va. - N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team ended a tough week of competition with a trio of losses at Bridgewater College's Fall Invitational this weekend. The Bishops suffered 3-0 sweeps versus Gallaudet and Washington & Lee before falling to host Bridgewater by a 3-1 score. Freshman Aneisha Felton highlighted Wesleyan's performance versus the Eagles with a career-high 13 kills.

Over the four matches, Felton led all Bishop players with 25 kills, while freshman Emily McLain amassed a team-high 11 blocks. Sophomore libero Christina Huber managed 42 digs on the week, which also led all Wesleyan players.

This weekend's defeats followed a 3-0 loss to a talented Mary Washington squad on Tuesday in Everett Gym. The Bishops are now 1-7 on the season entering next week's USA South opener versus William Peace on Tuesday night. The match is slated for a 7:00pm start.
