Bishops Cruise to 3-0 Sweep at Methodist in USA South Action

Fayetteville, N.C. - The Battling Bishop volleyball squad cruised to a 3-0 sweep of Methodist University on Tuesday night in Fayetteville (25-17, 25-15, 25-16). NCWC has now won three straight and moves to 7-5 in USA South play.

Wesleyan raced out to a 1-0 lead with a match-high 18-kill performance in the opening set. The Bishops went on to post 46 kills against just 15 errors on the night, while also tallying seven service aces as a team.

Leading the way was senior Tori Stewart with 12 kills, while Autumn Spence and Emily McLain added 11 and 10 kills of their own, respectively. Senior setter Ayla Brewer dished out 38 assists, and libero Christina Huber anchored the defensive effort with 22 digs.

Wesleyan (10-14, 7-5 USA South) will host its home finale on Thursday night when Averett University visits Everett Gym. The match is slated for a 7:00pm start.
