Morton, Bishops Split Pair of League Matches at Salem College

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Led by senior Samantha Morton's 20 kills over two matches, the NCWC volleyball team turned in a league split at Salem College on Saturday. The Bishops swept Ferrum 3-0 before falling to Salem 3-1.

Versus Ferrum, set scores were 25-16, 25-15, and 25-20 as the Bishops forced the Panthers into a negative hitting percentage for the match. Freshman Callie Cline tallied seven kills and 17 digs, while Morton added eight kills and Hannah Huls 15 digs. Sophomore setter Haileigh Riesenbeck dished out 15 assists.

Against Salem, set scores were 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-15. Morton and Cline again paced the Bishop offense with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Cline completed the double-double with a team-high 24 digs.

Wesleyan (6-15, 2-7 USA South) continues league play at Meredith on Tuesday night.
