Wesleyan Falls to Johnson & Wales

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan volleyball team fell to non-conference foe Johnson & Wales University in three sets on Monday evening in Charlotte. 

JWU (10-5) squeaked out the first set win 26-24 before taking the next two sets by scores of 25-20 each. 

Wesleyan's junior middle Hannah Thrasher led the team with 9 kills while hittign .304 with two blocks while junior OH Autumn Spence and freshman middle Devyn Kalinowski combined for 11 kills and 9 digs.

Setter Haileigh Riesenbeck then led the Bishops with a double-double of 17 assists and 14 digs along with a kill and an ace as she had a good night. Freshamn libero Devin Lassiter would also go on to add 12 digs with 3 aces and 3 assists while freshman RS/setter Sydney Barnwell contributed 5 kills, 12 assists, and five digs.

Wesleyan falls to 4-9 on the season and next returns home on Wednesday to host conference power Meredith College (8-3) at 7 PM.
