Volleyball Falls to Guilford on the road

GREENSBORO, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan volleyball team fell in 3 close sets on the road to Guilford College (NC), a quality non-conference opponent on Sunday afternoon.

Guilford (10-7) took the first set 25-22 behind 19 kills hitting .208 while edging out the Bishops 25-21 in set #2 with 15 kills. GC also took the final set 25-21 as well.

Wesleyan totaled 24 kills and 49 digs in the defeat along with 6 total blocks.

Junior middle Hannah Thrasher led the way with 6 kills and 3 blocks while fellow middle Haley Rising, and outside hitters Callie Cline and Autumn Spence also tallied 4 kills apiece.

Cline would add 13 digs, a block and 2 assists as well while freshman libero Devin Lassiter led the way with 15 digs. Spence also added 4 digs and 2 blocks while sophomore right side Augusta Preston posted 3 kills, 3 blocks, an assist and 2 digs. Setter Kelly Ammons also led with 11 assists and an ace.

The Bishops fall to 8-13 with the defeat and now return home to host conference rival Peace University on Tuesday at 7 PM on "Dig Pink" night.
