Fayetteville, N.C. - Wesleyan cross country finished third at Tuesday's tri-meet hosted by Methodist University. Sophomore Florencia Sorrentino turned in a team-best time of 13:52 in the 3K event, marking the program's fastest time since being reinstated last fall.
Sorrentino's time placed her 9th overall. Freshman Sarah Grossman (14:05) was just 13 seconds behind her in 10th-place, while Hannah Ivester (15:02), Ana Diaz (15:49) and Leigh Hales (16:36) rounded out NCWC's scorers in the 14th, 15th and 16th positions, respectively.
The host Monarchs won the meet, collecting just 22 points as a team on the day. Fayetteville State's Doreen Richardson earned medalist honors with a time of 11:47.
Next up for the Bishops is the Averett Invitational 5K on October 17th.
