Cross Country's Ivester Posts Career Best Time at Hagan Stone

Pleasant Garden, N.C. - The Battling Bishop cross country team competed at the Hagan Stone Classic on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Hannah Ivester turned in a new career-best 5K time by crossing the finish line in 27:05, while as a team, the Bishops shaved 14 minutes off their team time from last week's meet held at the same course.

Leading NCWC was sophomore Sarah Grossman with a season-best 5K time of 26:23, finishing 35th among 54 Division III runners competing. Ivester was not far behind, clocking in at 39th overall.

Also competing for the Bishops were Jessica Winslow, Jade' Jordan, and Leigh Hales, who each improved on their times from a week ago. Making the biggest stride was Winslow at nearly five minutes faster from start to finish.

Methodist University took top honors among five D-III schools competing. The Monarchs were led by Allyson Mattera's time of 20:31.

Next up, Wesleyan travel to the University of Mount Olive in a 5K dual on October 12th.
