CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers men's tennis team (3-3) plays North Carolina Wesleyan and North Carolina Central in Charlotte this Friday and Saturday, February 12-13. The 49ers begin the two-game homestand Friday against North Carolina Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. at Lifetime Fitness in south Charlotte. Then, the 49ers play North Carolina Central at Lifetime Fitness this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Fans will not be allowed at either Friday's or Saturday's matches due to a recent directive from Mecklenburg County Public Health officials.
 
NINERS THIS SEASON
This week, Olle Wallin was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after his performances against 16th-ranked N.C. State and Liberty last weekend. Wallin enters Friday's match, having won six straight matches giving him a team-leading eight singles wins. Ignasi de Rueda is second on the team with six wins. Henry Lieberman has recorded five wins this season. Ben Wayand has tallied four wins this season.
 
The doubles team of Wallin and de Rueda have won three of their last four matches, including the doubles point clinching win against Liberty last Sunday. The doubles team of Lieberman and Wayand have recorded three doubles win this season.
 
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA WESLEYAN
North Carolina Wesleyan opens their season Friday against Charlotte. North Carolina Wesleyan was ranked 31st in the ITA Division III rankings last March when the season was canceled due to the pandemic.  
 
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
North Carolina Central also opens their season with the match against the 49ers on Saturday. In 2020, the Eagles were 4-8 before the season was cut short in mid-March due to the pandemic. Charlotte defeated N.C. Central, 7-0, on the road in their last meeting, February 28, 2016.
