ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - With their 11-1 win over Averett in game three of the series on Sunday, the 9th ranked NC Wesleyan Bishop Baseball team has clinched the East Division of the USA South and the #1 seed in the upcoming USA South tournament in May.

The sweep moves the Bishops to 26-6 on the season and 14-1 in conference play while Averett falls to 8-20 and 6-9.

Senior starter Kevin Williams led the Bishops on Senior Day by throwing 7 no-hit innings before finishing allowing just two hits and one run on 2 walks and 9 strikeouts over 7-plus innings to improve to 4-2  on the year.

Senior relievers Robby Casey and Mike Smith then came on to throw scoreless 8th and 9th innings with a strikeout apiece.

After Davie Morgan scored on an error in the 2nd, leadoff LF Zach Lyon then stepped up and crushed a grand slam to dead center to put the Bishops up 5-0 early. RBI singles from senior RF Alec Titmus and Morgan then followed in the 4th and 5th innings before a two-run single from freshman 1B Jackson Hobbs during a three-run 6th put Wesleyan up 10-0.

Freshman pinch-hitter Tristan Griffin then followed with an rBI single in the 8th innings to make the final 11-1. Senior catcher Brad Pennington and junior SS Nate Hibbs each led the Bishops with two-hit games while Hobbs and Titmus recorded stolen bases. Lyon's home run was his 5th of the season.

Wesleyan will now finish the regular season on the road next Thursday when they head to Mary Baldwin, VA for a 5pm game.
