Christopher Corbett, 25, was named as the new assistant baseball coach with the Battling Bishops in the Spring of 2020. Corbett will work primarily with catchers and hitters and will also be the head junior varsity coach beginning in the 2020-21 season.

"We are excited to have Chris as part of the Bishop Baseball Family," commented coach Greg Clifton. "I feel he will be a great asset to our group. Along with varsity duties and recruiting, he will also be the Head JV Coach."

“I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to coach at NC Wesleyan," said Corbett. "I look forward to developing these young men both on and off the field under the leadership of Coach Clifton. The Bishop baseball program has a rich tradition, and I look forward to upholding the standard of excellence set by the coaches and players who came before me.”

After graduating from Rollins College (Fla.) in 2017 with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Business Management, Corbett went on to play in the San Francisco Giants organization as a catcher from 2017-2020. He was drafted by the Giants in the 18th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.

While at Rollins, Corbett was named to the Athletic Director Honor Roll for his four years while also winning the Sportsmanship Award at Rollins College in 2017. He was a team captain his senior year while also a SAAC committee member, an Athletics Captain's Council member and the founder/leader of Baseball Bible Study and People Believing in Jesus Bible Study.

Corbett, a native of High Point, NC, also played Summer Collegiate Baseball from 2014-2016 for the Kernersville Bulldogs and the Plymouth Pilgrims.
