Jermaine Mitchell is beginning his first season as the Inside Linebackers Coach, and Co Special Teams Coordinator with the Battling Bishop football program for the 2022 season.
Before coming to Wesleyan, Mitchell was the Assistant Coach, Run Game Coord., and Director of Recruiting at Allegheny College (Pa.) for a season. He comes to Wesleyan with nearly a decade of coaching experience.
Most recently, he spent four years as an assistant at NCAA Division II Gannon, working with the defensive line and as an assistant run game coordinator. He also served as the team’s Pro Liaison and Director of Strength and Conditioning.
Prior to his time in Erie, Mitchell spent two years as an assistant coach with Division II Charleston Univ., (WV) where he coached the safeties and linebackers as well as directly assisting the head coach in all other duties.
Upon graduating from Allegheny in 2011 with a B.A in Economics and Mathematics, Mitchell became an assistant coach at D-3 Marietta College (OH) working with the defensive line and serving as the Pioneers’ video coordinator.
Mitchell also receieved his Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston, WV in 2014.
