Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Damon McDowell, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior guard from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina averaged 29.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game as the Battling Bishops posted a 3-0 record last week against USA South competition. In a 78-72 win over Averett, McDowell 17 points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal. In a 100-74 home win over William Peace, McDowell poured in 38 points with five rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block. Finally, in an 82-81 road win over William Peace, McDowell scored 33 points, including the game-winning basket with less than a second remaining, to go along with two steals, one rebound and one assist.

The Bishops, 8-3 overall and 5-0 in conference, will return to action on Friday evening on the road at Pfeiffer University at 2:30 PM after their home game on Wednesday vs Averett was postponed.
