ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team poured on the offense in their 101-68 rout of conference foe Pfeiffer University on Sunday afternoon.

The Bishops were able to get their revenge on the Falcons as Pfeiffer had given Wesleyan their first division loss on Friday. With the big win, NCWC improves to 9-4 on the season and remains in first place at 6-1 in the East Division of the USA South.

The Bishop men got off to another great start in this one running out to a 17-1 lead before extending it to 22-4 at one point for their biggest lead of the half. Pfeiffer (3-1 USA SOUTH), however, would make a run and continue to chip into the deficit eventually tying the game at 36. But a big three-pointer from senior wing Damon McDowell at the first half buzzer put Wesleyan in front 41-36 at the break giving them momentum for the second half.

From there it would be all Bishops for the rest of the game as the offense continued to operate at top-notch as they put up 60 points in the second half en route to outscoring the Falcons 60-32 in the half and go on for the 33-point win, reaching triple-digits for the second time as well. Wesleyan shot nearly 64 percent from the floor in the half and 56 percent (9 of 16) from three while holding Pfeiffer to just 33 percent shooting.

McDowell would lead the Bishops with 34 points on 7 of 12 shooting from behind-the-arc along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Junior forward Sal-Bey Young then posted a big game as well as he recorded a double-double of 15 points (season-high) and 14 rebounds with 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. McDowell is now averaging nearly 25 points/game and shooting over 45 percent from three.

Junior forward Isaiah Lewis also had a nice game scoring 17 points with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks to lead the Bishops. Fellow forward, sophomore Tim Pettiford, also scored 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks as well.

Sophomore point guard Brayden Dixon then led Wesleyan with 7 points off the bench and a team-best and season-high five steals and seven assists (season-high) as well while freshman guard Khalid Chavis-Hinds scored 8 points and assisted on six buckets.

The Bishops will next return to action on Friday when they head down to Fayetteville to battle rival Methodist (4-1) at 4:30 PM.
