McDowell Named "Basketball Times" Third Team All-American

NC Wesleyan College men's basketball senior wing Damon McDowell was named a Third Team All-American by the "Basketball Times" magazine that is in its 43rd season of publication.

McDowell helped lead Wesleyan to an East Division Regular Season Title by averaging 24 points/game along with 4.3 rebounds/game this season in leading Wesleyan to an 8-2 conference record and 11-6 record overall.

McDowell was also named a USA South First-Team All Division member this year as he shot over 42 percent from the three-point line along with averaging 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals.

"I am thrilled for Damon to be recognized as an All-American," commented head coach John Thompson. "It is well deserved. His selection is a reflection of his drive, commitment, and hard work!"

McDowell is the first All-American in Men's Basketball since Brandon Givens in 2013.
