Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Isaiah Lewis, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior forward from Knightdale, North Carolina averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, to go along with 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks, as the Battling Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week. In a 95-88 win over LaGrange, Lewis notched a double-double of 24 points and ten rebounds with two blocks and one steal. In a 79-70 victory over Piedmont, Lewis tallied another double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds while adding three assists and one block. Lewis beat out four other Nominees for the award.
Lewis has helped the Bishops run off five straight wins to improve to 9-3 on the season. Wesleyan is 1-0 in the East Division (4-0 against USA South foes) and will next return home to host William Peace on Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 2:00 PM.
