Men's Tennis Shuts out Chowan for 14th Straight Win

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Men's tennis team shut out D-2 foe Chowan University 9-0 at home on Tuesday for their 14th straight win.

Junior Jhonny Acosta led the Bishops to the win by dominating in singles and doubles on Tuesday winning his singles bout 6-0, 6-0 at the top line before teaming with fellow junior  and USA South Doubles Team of the Week member Juan Vallejo to win 8-3 at the top doubles line as well. Wesleyan won their two other doubles matches 8-0 each as well.

Freshmen John Falke and Andrea Fanzaga also won easily at the #2 and #5 spots respectively while sophomores Tshepo Mosarwa, Augusto Roca, and Thato Holmes dominated their foes in straight sets as well.

 The Bishops improve to 14-2 with the win while Chowan falls to 1-10.

Wesleyan will return to action Wednesday with a conference matchup at Averett at 2 PM.
