Men's Tennis Roll Past Peace 8-1

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's tennis team rolled to their 16th straight win by defeating conference foe William Peace 8-1 at home on Wednesday afternoon.

The men first rolled to three doubles wins by scores of 8-2, 8-0, and 8-0 including the top team of junior Jhonny Acosta and freshman Andrea Fanzaga.

Wesleyan then completely dominated 5 of the 6 singles matches by never relinquishing more than one game in any set. However, Freshman Valentin Mussi fell in a tough three-set tiebreak at the top spot 10-7 after splitting the first two sets 1-6, 6-3. 

Singles winners included sophomores Valentin Ancieto at #2 and Thato Holmes at #3, and freshmen Fanzaga at #4, Vittorio Noli at #5, and Joaquin Micheloni at #6.

Wesleyan improves to 16-2 on the year and 3-0 in conference dropping Peace to 1-4 and 1-2 in the East.

The men return to action on Friday when they head to Pfeiffer to battle the Falcons at 2 PM.
