USA South Softball Pitcher of the Week
Beth Braswell, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior from Princeton, North Carolina posted a 3-0 record in three appearances, all starts, in the circle last week for the Battling Bishops.
In a total of 23 innings pitched, Braswell compiled a 0.91 ERA while allowing just three runs on 14 hits with six walks and 28 strikeouts.
Braswell earned wins over USA South foes William Peace and Methodist (twice). Her best outing came in the first game of a doubleheader sweep of Methodist as she tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts while throwing all nine innings in game two holding MU to just one run to pick up the sweep and put the Bishops into the USA South Playoffs.
Braswell is currently 15-5 on the year with a 1.37 ERA , 132 strikeouts and 17 complete games.
#2 seed Wesleyan will next face top seed Pfeiffer on the road on Friday in the opener of a three-game best-of series at 2 PM.
