ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College lacrosse team dropped their non-conference matchup at home with CNU 22-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Captains (1-0) got off to a big lead in the first half scoring 7 goals in the first 15 minutes before adding five more before the break.

Wesleyan then got on the board 18 minutes into the second half on a goal from senior midfielder Ali Cucinotta. Unfortunately, that would be all the goals the Lady Bishops could muster on this day as the relentlessness of CNU would be too much.

Other than her goal, Cucinotta also won three draw controls and grabbed a ground ball while junior defenders Aydriyan Upchurch and Karlee Bjurstrom also picked up three ground balls apiece. Upchurch added three caused turnovers to her day as well.

In goal for the Bishops, freshman Devin Bautz made 6 saves while Makiyah Owens saved two shots.

The Bishops, now 1-3, will next face a struggling non-conference foe in their next game on Friday when they host Randolph College at 3:30 PM.
