ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team used a single goal in the second half and held off non-conference foe Piedmont International 1-0 for their second straight win on Sunday.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Bishops lead 6-1 in shots, Wesleyan came out and scored the winning goal in the 58th minute of play. It began with a Piedmont foul leading to a Naniiya Brown free kick. Her kick then soared towards junior striker Cydney Nichols who put it into the back of the net for the only goal of the game and her fourth straight game with a goal. It was Nichols' 6th goal of the season and Brown's first assist.

The Bishops would then hold off the Bruin attacks the rest of the way with goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs making one save as the Bishops held the Bruins to just two shots on the game outshooting them 18-2. Senior forward Sarah Cook also led Wesleyan with 7 shots on the day.

Wesleyan improves to 4-6 on the year while PIU falls to 5-5-1. The Lady Bishops are next in action on Wednesday as they travel to William Peace to face the Pacers at 7:00 PM.
