Women's Track Competes at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's track and field team competed at the Div. II Mount Olive Trojan Challenge on Saturday.

 Junior Teanna Bellamy led the Lady Bishops placing 20th out of 40 in the 200 meters with a time of 28 seconds and was the highest D-3 finisher. Freshman Assata Sirleaf then finished right behind her in 23rd in 28.6 seconds. Then in the 100 meters, Bellamy placed 12th in 13.5 seconds while sirleaf was 17th in 13.8 seconds.

In the 400 meters, freshman Mariah Brooks then placed 16th out of 30 with a time of 1:03.6 while junior Kelsey Hutchison , pictured below, then finished 25th out of 40 in the 800 meters in a time of 2:41.

Then in the field events, The Bishops were led by freshman Christian Van Norden in the shot put and Discus throw. In the shot put, Van Norden placed 13th out of 36 with a mark of 10.97 meters while in the Discus she landed a mark of 28.65 meters to place 18th out of 35.

The women are next competing in the Aggie Invitational hosted by NC A&T in Greensboro on April 8 and 9.
