Rocky Mount, N.C. – The N.C. Wesleyan Athletic Department held its 58th annual Athletic Awards Ceremony at the Dunn Center on Monday, August 24th. Coaches, staff, and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of the athletic department during the 2023-24 academic year.
The athletic department handed out two awards this year, one being the Sabastian Award which went to men's basketball senior Brayden Dixon. This award embodies a student-athlete who represents NCWU on and off the field in a positive way at all times and sets a great example for their peers.
The other award handed out was the Athletic Service Award which recognized an individual who gave back a tremendous amount of their time to serve the student-athletes and their best interests. This year's award went to Dr. Carl Lewis who takes many photos at countless NCWU sporting events and serves as the school's Faculty Athletic Representative.
Each sport also honored their respective student-athletes by giving out three awards… The first was the Moe Bauer Sportsmanship Award, the second award was the Scholar-Athlete Award, and the third was the team's MVP.
