Baseball Sweeps SVU to Improve to 6-0 in USA South

Rocky Mount, NC - In a three-game series against Southern Virginia, NC Wesleyan baseball emerged victorious, sweeping all three games 13-0, 10-0, and 7-2 respectively. In the first game, the Bishops combined for a total of 14 hits, with Alex Moskel leading the charge with 4 hits, including a triple. Jackson Hobbs, Davie Morgan, and Javier Quintana all had multi-hit games, with Quintana contributing 4 RBI and Luke Chung also adding 4 RBI. Pitcher Payne Stolsworth had an outstanding game, pitching 7 innings, giving up 0 earned runs, and striking out 7.

In the second game, NC Wesleyan continued their strong performance with 10 hits, and multi-hit games from Zach Lyon, Blake Scott, and Javier Quintana. Pitcher Danny Thompson was dominant on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 7 innings and earning USA South Pitcher of the Week honors.

In the final game of the series, NC Wesleyan won 7-2 with Alex Moskel adding another 3 hits and Blake Scott contributing 2 RBI. Hunter Will was the winning pitcher, going 6 innings and giving up 4 hits and 2 runs.

Wesleyan improves to 16-5 on the season and will face Randolph-Macon at home on Thursday night.
