Tyson Bass's Home Run Leads Bishops Past Averett

Danville, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan baseball program won their fourth straight game on Tuesday, defeating Averett 13-6.

How it Happened:

  • Wesleyan struck for two runs in the third, thanks to a Jaiden Barker double that scored Jackson Hobbs
  • In the fourth, Tyson Bass started to get hot at the plate by doubling down the left-field line and recorded his first of four RBIs on the afternoon. He would later come around to score in the same inning.
  • Bass would homer in the 7th driving in two runs and was followed by Zach Lyon who singled up the middle to bring in Colin Scoggins.
  • The Bishops would use five pitchers for the midweek affair, with Cord Butler getting the win and striking out six batters in three innings. Cullen Davis and Clayton Gilmore shined in relief with Davis striking out two of the three Cougars he faced.
