Four Bishops Garner USA College Football Accolades

Rocky Mount, N.C. - USA College Football has released its All-American awards for the 2015 season, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that four Battling Bishops have been recognized.

Malik Adams, a junior wide receiver from Selma, N.C., was named to the First Team after earning USA South Offensive Player of the Year honors. He led the conference in nearly every receiving category, including a league-leading 72 catches, 1,309 yards, 130.9 yards per game, 19 touchdowns, and 114 points scored. The 19 receiving TDs led the nation and establishes a new USA South single-season record, giving Adams a conference-best 36 career touchdown catches.

Joining him as a First Teamer is senior offensive lineman Martin Brazwell, a Kinston, N.C. native. A preseason USA College Football All-American, Brazwell started nine overall games for the Bishops and was instrumental in the success of Wesleyan's running game, as well as the success of Third Team honoree Dustin Midgett at quarterback. Midgett, who hails from Currituck, N.C., turned in a stellar season that saw the senior pass for a program-record 27 touchdowns.

Finally, Adrian Minondo, a freshman running back from Okeechobee, Fla., was tabbed a Rookie All-American. He had previously earned USA South Offensive Rookie of the Year recognition after averaging 119.7 yards per league game and scoring 11 touchdowns. In NCWC's victory over Averett, Minondo established a new single-game Wesleyan record by rushing for 278 yards.

American Football Network, Inc. created USA College Football in 1988 as the original broadcast, internet and print media gridiron outlet focused on D-I-AA, D-II, D-III, NAIA and JUCO football programs. USA College Football is the owner-operator of the USA College Football Bowl, established in 1996. As senior honorees, both Brazwell and Midgett have earned invitations to play.
