Bishop Men Drop Exhibition at UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team dropped their exhibition game on the road at Div. I UNC-Greensboro on Wednesday evening 80-61.

Wesleyan shot 37 percent in the first half and 42 percent from three while the Spartans (5-2) shot just 40 percent and only 7 percent from three, but went on to take a 38-26 halftime edge.

Junior guard Brayden Dixon led the Bishops with 15 points overall on 6 of 10 shooting and a team-best 3 steals, but Wesleyan could not fully rally back in the second half staying right with the Spartans before dropping the half 42-35. Wesleyan shot 47 percent in the second half while UNCG improved shooting 51 percent and 62 percent from three to pull away late from the Bishops.

Junior forward Isaiah Lewis also had a good game posting 12 points and team-best in rebounds with 6 and blocks with 3. Sophomores Kyron Kelly and Austin Manley also each scored 8 points apiece on 6 of 10 combined shooting with 4 combined rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.

Senior wing Damon McDowell also scored 7 points while sophomore guard Khalid Hinds led the way with 5 assits as well as 3 rebounds and 4 points.

The Bishops remain 4-2 and will next hit the road to battle the University of Lynchburg on Saturday at 2 PM.
