ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team used a blizzard of offense throughout the game to outlast the Pride of Greensboro College 103-90 at home on Saturday. The win improves the Bishops to 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Senior Damon McDowell led the offense scoring 30 points on 12 of 20 from the field and four 3-pointers along with 4 assists and 2 steals. Wesleyan outscored GC 45-31 in the first half after building a 31-13 lead.

The second half then featured limited defense and a combined 117 points between the rivals with Wesleyan scoring 58 on 63 percent second-half shooting. GC (6-9, 1-3) would get the game within single digits multiple times, but could never get within 8 points as the Bishops used their offense to secure a win.

Junior forward Sal-Bey Young also had a monster all-around game scoring a season-high 23 points with 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a season-high 6 assists and came within four helpers short of a triple-double. Fellow junior forward Isaiah Lewis also played well scoring 17 points with 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks.

In the backcourt, junior Brayden Dixon finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals while backcourt mate Khalid Chavis-Hinds recorded 8 points with 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Sophomore guard Austin Manley also scored 9 points with forward Kyron Kelly adding six.

The Bishops will get right back to action tomorrow when they head to Pfeiffer to battle the always tough Falcons in a 2:00 matchup.
