Men's Soccer Defender of the Week
Matteo Torchio, N.C. Wesleyan - The Rome, Italy sophomore goalkeeper allowed two goals and stopped eight shots while in net for 200 minutes during a 0-1-1 week for the Batting Bishops. In a 1-1 draw with Johns Hopkins, Torchio went the distance and made five saves. In a 1-0 loss at Mary Washington, Torchio stopped three of the four shots he faced.
This is Matteo's second USA South Defender of the Week award in his career as he also won back in March during the Spring season.
He will lead the Bishops into Virginia this coming weekend for a pair of non-conference games.
