GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker of a match 2-1 on the road at rival Greensboro College on Tuesday evening.

unfortunately, for the Bishops, GC got on the board first in the 14th minute scoring an own goal as the ball deflected off a Bishop defender and into their own net to put GC up 1-0 early.

Wesleyan would then take a 10-1 shot count advantage into the break as the own goal was deflating for the Bishops.

The second half then remained scoreless until the 81st minute when the Pride added an insurance goal to go up 2-0. However, NCWC woud then come right back 5 minutes later as sophomore forward Augustin Rodriguez would trim the Pride's lead to one with his 86th minute goal off an assist from sophomore midfielder Ian Garnero

But that would be as close as they would get outshooting GC 11-4 in the second half and 21-5 overall led by six shots from defender Abubacarr Fofana and 4 shots each from Rodriguez and midfielder Juan Simoniello.

Senior goalkeeper Tobias Borzel finished the game making 3 saves on 5 shots on goal to suffer his first loss of the season.

The Bishops fall to 3-6-2 with the loss and 1-1 in the conference while GC improves to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the East Division.

Wesleyan returns home Saturday to host Mary Baldwin at 2 PM on Homecoming.
