Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Tony Sas-Cane, N.C. Wesleyan - The Rio, Argentina freshman midfielder tallied his first career hat trick with three goals in a 5-1 win over Methodist, the only contest he appeared in last week for the Battling Bishops.
Sas-Cane scored all three of his goals within six minutes of each other, including one in the 25th minute which proved to be the eventual game-winner. Sas-Cane beat out nine other rookies that were nominated for the award.
He and his teammates will next try to extend their 3-game win streak and their 4-1 conference record into a home matchup with rival William Peace on Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM from Scalf Field.
