The Battling Bishop men picked up their first win of the 2022 slate, and first win of the Mark Bowman era, on Saturday with a 1-0 shutout of Marymount. Mauro Infante drove home the deciding goal off a corner kick opportunity from Tomasso Illario only 3:48 into the match, while the Bishop defense and goal keeper Freddy Rogers ensured the goal was enough. Rogers saved the only shot attempt on goal he faced in the shutout performance against a Marymount Saints squad that scored three goals in their previous match. The assist for Illario was his second in as many games.

NCWU skipper Mark Bowman earned the first win of his head coaching career. Bowman was elevated to head coach after a successful campaign as assistant for the Bishops in the Fall of 2021 and previous stints at Randolph and Liberty University. Bowman and the Bishops will look to add to the win total with a home contest on Tuesday at 4pm versus perennial NCAA participant Washington & Lee.
