Rocky Mount, NC – The NC Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team dropped a tough home opener
match against Washington & Lee 7-2 Tuesday afternoon.
The Generals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals at the ninth and sixteenth minute mark. The Battling
Bishops would score right before the first half at the thirty second mark with an unassisted goal by
Sophomore Tomas Illario. A strong first half ended with both Washington & Lee and the Battling
Bishops with five shots on goal each.
The Battling Bishops would add another unassisted score by Freshman Justo Esponda at the eighty fifth
minute.
Overall, Washington & Lee would have fifteen shots on goal with 7 scores; while the Battling
Bishops would have four shots on goal with 2 scores.
NCWU Men's Soccer will travel Saturday, September 10 to face Randolph.
