Men's Tennis Falls in Heartbreaker to Emory in NCAA Regionals

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan men's tennis program fell in a heartbreaking match to #7 Emory. The match had an extraordinary atmosphere and was kicked off by the Bishops taking two out of three doubles matches. The crowd would erupt when John Falke and Augusto Roca would win in a 7-5 tiebreaker to take the match 8-7. In singles, John Falke cruised after winning seven straight points to capture the #1 singles victory 7-6, 6-1. Andy Fanzaga also took a big win at the #6 singles slot.

The tennis program had a terrific season, and one of the most challenging schedules in school history playing in the ITA Indoor National Championships and the annual spring break tour in Florida against ranked opponents. Defeating five ranked opponents and winning the USA South, the program was selected as a host for the NCAA regionals, defeating Washington&Lee in the first round.
