The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2021 All-Conference awards for softball. Individually, Piedmont represents four of the five awards with Katelyn Perry being named Player of the Year, Martina Maloch earning Pitcher of the Year, Emma McBrayer collecting Rookie Pitcher of the Year and their coach, Terry Martin claiming Coach of the Year. To round out the individual awards, Huntingdon's Brooke Stefankiewicz was named Rookie of the Year. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school.
Senior pitcher Beth Braswell led the Lady Bishops with her First Team All-Conference recognition for her outstanding year helping lead the team to a Conference Finals Berth and 19 overall wins. Braswell went 17-5 in the circle with 18 complete games and 143 strikeouts over 138 innings with a 1.26 ERA as she fell just a few votes shy of being named Pitcher of the Year. She also played first base and hit .270 on the year with 24 hits, 8 doubles, 2 triples, and team-leading 4 home runs and 31 RBIs.
Junior outfielder Logan Winstead was next up earning First Team All-Division honors as she led the team with a .406 average and 20 stolen bases and a .462 OBP.
Seniors Nichole Mooney (OF) and shortstop Meredith Mize were then eached named to 2nd team All-Division as they both hit over .300 on the year and tallied over 30 hits. Mooney also had 14 stolen bases and scored a team-best 32 runs while Mize drove in 21 runs.
Sophomore DH Makyala Himes was also named to the Sportsmanship team while she hit two home runs this season as well.
