The N.C. Wesleyan softball program kicks off its 2023 campaign on February 25th against Mary Washington. Looking to build off last year, the Bishops will rely on a good mix of talented freshmen to play significant roles for the program, especially on the mound.
Wesleyan also returns several position players who received playing time last year, and only one senior in Kelsi Rrhodes (2B/OF). Entering his 32nd season, Head Coach John Brackett is excited to get going and stated " We are ecstatic to get our 2023 season underway. I believe we have a very talented class coming in this year and believe our talent and work ethic outweigh our inexperience."
The softball program will also have the opportunity to take part in two midseason tournaments this season including their usual spring break trip to Myrtle Beach in March. The program will play in the Grand Slam Classic in Raleigh and the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach while playing high-level competition.
The Bishops are looking forward to seeing how their freshmen can perform and are excited to fill a lot of positions with younger players this season, and bring home another USA South championship to Brackettville.
