Softball Drops DH at Mary Washington

Fredericksburg, VA - The North Carolina Wesleyan softball team dropped both games of a DH to Mary Washington on Friday. In game 1, the Bishops fell 10-2. Center fielder Lillie Baumbach got 2 hits for the opening game and drove in one of the team's two runs. Ava Lowry and Moe Byerly also were able to get a hit in the contest for Wesleyan.

The ladies never gave up, scoring both of their runs in the final two innings of the game and forcing MWU to give up 5 hits for the afternoon.

In game 2, the softball team fell 9-1 in 5 innings. Once again, Lillie Baumbach led the way in hitting for the club with another multi-hit game. Savannah Thompson also contributed a hit for the Bishops. The ladies got off to a great start and scored a run in the very first inning and showed tremendous fight throughout the entire game.

The softball team will be back in action on Tuesday as they face Carolina University in a DH for their home opener. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
